Originally starting with the mediums of painting and textiles, my natural curiosity fuels research and experimentation with material, colour and form throughout my work. This curiosity has been the catalyst in my creative journey, with my most recent discovery of clay leading me to study for a Higher National Diploma in Art and 3D Design.
Inspired by society’s multidimensionality, my research analyses social themes to produce conceptual pieces reflecting human perceptions, experiences, and our relationship with the world around us. Applying my research to technical experimentation and concept development, I test the limits of materials, exploring tactile forms and creating pieces that open conversations for to the audience to question and laugh. My practice has been described as unpredictable, refreshing and bold.
Whether functional or decorative, I believe in creating from a place of self-expression to provide alternative perspectives. The playful nature of my work intends to reflect the joy I have experienced discovering my place in art and design. As a representation of myself, I like to consider my body of work as an open invitation to welcome all to engage and connect with a creative output, regardless of their background, to explore and express themselves.
